Legend of the Samurai (SWxPokemon RP)

*Before I begin, I found this RP format idea from an RP I used to be in a few years ago that I quit because reasons. So credit to original person who made this format idea. The people who know the origin know who I’m talking about.*

Welcome, to the warring states period of Japan. A land where multiple warlords war to succeed in unifying the land to prove their strength and use the creator’s power as the cornerstone of their power, whether their rule is for good or evil. However, each army fights with the bonds they have together, and with their partner Pokemon who will go through thick and thin together into this war.

Irregardless of anything, all characters are involved in this war. However, they aren’t alone, as they can march on with their close partner Pokemon.




Before we start the RP, each person has to sign up a character that leads a clan as their first character along with claiming one territory from the above list except for territories 1, 2, and 3. First Characters will have the leadership over the clan that they are in, while other characters can lead another clan (Only another Clan though(I have the exception since the Oda are practically the Villains in this)), or be a subordinate under another clan that is owned by a player. (if it’s not yours, ask the other person just incase.)

Name: Yukimura Sanada
Gender: Male
Age: 20
Clan: Sanada
Personality: Yukimura is a honorable and a true warrior. He would gladly die to protect those he finds close to him. He is at times rebellious and goes against foes stronger than him. He sometimes may be seen as a fool by his idea and goal, however honorable it is. Yukimura dislikes those who want to destroy his family, or sully his or others close to him's reputation.
Appearance and Weapon: Yukimura uses a Spear and can sweep his foes easily with it and pierce his foes shield or armor. He also is able to charge his Spear with Fire energy and decimate foes with pure ease from it's strength.
Yukimura is also able to jump into the Sky (Imagine like the Valkyrie/Dragoon Job from Final Fantasy) and come down impaling his spear at his foes.

History: Yukimura grew up training with his twin brother, Nobuyuki, since his youngest ages with a small staff to prepare himself to use a Spear. He constantly trained with his brother, day to night at time to master it, following the Art of Battle and War. As Yukimura gained age he then help his clan become renown over Japan, from his constant training.
Eventually one day, the Tokugawa provoked war with the Takeda, and Masayuki, his and Nobuyuki’s father, evaded war by marrying Nobuyuki to Ina who is the daughter to Ieyasu's great advisor, Tadakatsu Honda. Which caused turmoil to Yukimura because he lost his brother.

Partners Info: His Charizard, named Nobushige, has a small leather band around his tail which securely holds a Charizardite Y stone, which he was given to him by his father for his Charizard.

Name: Yuuki Mori
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Clan: Mori
Personality: Yuuki comes off as well as very upbeat and eccentric, and normal yells at people to fight her from her normal verbal tic. She is cocky, proud, brash personality, and she can be aggressive. Yuffie is a tomboy and acts unashamedly towards her goals.
Appearance and Weapon: Yuuki has  young, dark-purple hair and wears a  robe with black, white, and red designs on it. Said robe is tied firmly over her upper chest, and goes down to the mid area of her thighs with a bell attached to the oni on her left side. The robe itself was all tied in the back with a purple rope that held it neatly in place. She has black cloths firmly wrapped around her wrists and red ribbons to tie white strips of leather down. From the base of her knees were white clothing that were firmly tied down by red ribbon around the beginning of her shin, mid shin, and and. The ribbon at the mid shin was tied in the same butterfly motif the rope that held up her top. She has a small black and red designed choker around her neck that followed the design of her robe. Her purple hair dangled around, the bang on her right side curled down to the base of her neck as the left hung to her chin. Her hair was tied up into two small buns on the back which were held in place by two hair pins: a small, cute fox one at the top and a small one that had the motif of a butterfly on the side, and her hair was separated into 2 fine strands of hair that flowed down to the back of her calves.
In combat, Yuuki goes hand to hand with a Banguazhang fighting style, that focuses on moving around in a circular motion  and strike opponents pressure points with quick jabs.
History: Yuuki was born as the child of Okimoto Mori, brother to the current head: Motonari, and only child of him, as Okimoto died in battle from clans that rival the Mori. Motonari brought Yuuki into his family as his own child. Yuuki grew up as a brash child and got into trouble every so often in her young years, and has grown up to become a somewhat of a delightful lady, and learned some ancient chinese fighting styles which she uses to help fight with her Uncle and cousins against the enemy of the Mori.
Partner Pokemon: Riolu
Partners Info: Yuuki names her partner Riolu: Ara, after a girl from a storybook she liked as a kid. Yuuki has in one of her hairpins an activation stone for Mega Evolution.


Name: Nobunaga Oda
Gender: Male
Age: 28
Clan: Oda
Personality: Nobunaga is a cunning and sadistic man. He is well known by his foolish and idiotic ideals, which are overall incorrect and more of a false hood. Nobunaga is not a man to show mercy. It is overall rare for him to show it. Nobunaga will stop at nothing however to conquer Japan with an iron fist.

Nobunaga wields a scythe that he cockily labels: The Fool, which he has used to destroy most of the Oda retainers who faced off against him, and kill the previous master of Yoshimune.
History: Nobunaga was born as the second son of Nobuhide Oda, a deputy military advisor in the Owari Province. Throughout Nobunaga’s childhood, he showed strange and bizarre behavior, eventually being called: The Big Fool of Owari. When Nobunaga was 19, his father Nobuhide died mysteriously, which made Nobunaga depressed, and he showed up at his funeral ceremony, drunk, and threw funeral essence across his grave which angered many of the Oda subordinates.
This event lead to a few leaders in the Owari province to commit seppuku and embroil the future of the Oda into different factions: Nobunaga’s faction, which moves him as leader for the Oda Clan; Factions that supported his well manered younger brother: Nobuyuki; and the Shiba Faction, which was lead by Yoshimune Shiba, who wanted to weaken Oda’s place in Owari from threat of them eventually displacing him from power. Eventually each 3 factions clashed, and Nobunaga held back as the people who supported his younger brother were killed off and his brother was assassinated. Nobunaga then strategically attacked the Shiba group and eliminated them, and claimed Owari as his. Nobunaga then began to grow a large army as he is now preparing to conquer all of Japan.
Partner Pokemon: Giritina
Partners Info: Nobunaga and his Giritina (who he names Otsuke), bonded after he slaughtered Otsuke’s previous master: Yoshimune Shiba. His Giritina has an Orb fashioned in a small plate on its back that keeps it in Origin Form.

Name: Masakage Yamagata

Gender: Male

Age: 35

Clan: Yamagata

Personality: Masakage is just and honorable. He resents the Sanada due to them claiming the land of Kai. Masakage focuses most of his time on war and not as much on life. While he does take care of the people Nobufusa Baba handles the people more than anyone else.

Appearance and Weapon: Masakage wields a War Axe named Amatera which is enchanted with fire. When it delivers a hit to a enemy it immediately burns them.


History: Masakage was raised since a young age to fight for the Takeda. His life always, always, was about Shingen and his family. Through his life all he saw was himself rank up until he became one of the Four Guardian Kings of the Takeda. A title he wore proudly. He led the Red Fire Unit for many years and he and his men were Shingen's strongest weapon. He also was a close friend of Shingen and advised him on many strategies.

Partner Pokemon: Arcanine.

Partners Info: Arcanine's name is Gyūki. Gyu is adorned with red armor and a red helmet to make him and his master match.



Name: Ieyasu Tokugawa

Gender : Male

Age : 35

Clan : Tokugawa

Personality : Ieyasu values a slow and steady approach to most problems, he believes that he should endure any burden in order to realize a harmonious future for everyone. Knowing that he can't achieve this vision by himself, he is willing to use and accept any who believe in him.

He believes in and cares for each of his vassals and allies, even the ones he doesn't necessarily agree with on a personal level. He acts heroically with the ones closest to him and greatly praises their efforts. If he thinks that he is able, Ieyasu will try to support their duties. When his vassals are in danger, Ieyasu easily becomes emotional when seeing them suffer on the battlefield.

Appearance and Weapon: Ieyasu wields the Earthshaker.


History: Tokugawa Ieyasu was born in Okazaki Castle in Mikawa. He was the son of Matsudaira Hirotada the daimyo of Mikawa of the Matsudaira clan, and Odai-no-kata, the daughter of a neighbouring samurai lord, Mizuno Tadamasa.

His family had numerous conflicts as parts of the family wanted to ally with the Oda while some, including Ieyasu's father, wanted to ally with the Imagawa. Eventually,  Ieyasu's father passed on and Ieyasu took control of the land. Eventually,  when the Imagawa were invaded,  he assisted in their destruction.

After all his conflicts Ieyasu now desires complete peace for Japan.

Ieyasu is close with his retainers Sorin Õtomo, Tadakatsu Honda, Hanzo Hattori, Masanobu Honda and Masanori Fukushisma.

Pokémon: Aggron

Partner's Info: His Aggron is called Heinosuchī which derives from " Heiwa no suchīru" meaning The Steel of Peace. Heino is as important to Ieyas as his retainers and he would not be able to rule with out him. Ieyasu has a Mega Evolution ring.

Name: Shigure Azai

Gender: Male

Age: 25

Clan: Azai

Personality: A respectful young man who dreams of a peaceful land. He's loyal to what is best for his clan, and is caring in his own way. He is known for his honor and mercy more than anything - and his tactical prowess has helped him win survive and complete missions that basically assured death.

Appearance and Weapon: Shigure has brown hair and blue eyes, and stands at 6'2 ft. His armor is yellow, mainly made of silk that a tactical genius would wear with some armoring around his stomach and chest. He wields a Fire God's Robe: Shock as his main way of attacking.

History: Shigure was raised in the clan of the Azai, despite once having a different last name from the rest of his clan. Shigure was raised as a tactical prodigy and would prove useful in battle at a younger age. He has been passed the torch of overseeing the Azai for Nagamasa Azai, who gave him the right to take his place as Azai leader until his return from war.

Shigure would remain neutral throughout chaos, trying to bring enemies to peace and declaring neutrality when battles occured in his land, unless his clan was personally attacked. Shigure protects the legacy of Nagamasa Azai and will only join the chaotic war ahead if he is forced to do so, for if a strong army threatens the Azai, he will join and assist the leader of his former enemy if that is what it takes to keep the Azai clan from crumbling - though war makes for strange bed-fellows, and Shigure wouldn't be afraid to betray an ally if the enemy gave him a good reason to fight for them.

Partner Pokemon: Raichu

Partners Info: Shigure's Raichu, known as Omoisei, is a strong ally to him indeed. His name derives from the words compassion and neutral, describing his Master's ambitions. Raichu is an inspirational mascot, having been raised from a Pichu. His moveset is known for powerful electric strikes like Thunderbolt and Volt Tackle, and unexpected attacks like Dig and Feint.

Name: Mikata Azai

Gender: Female

Age: 22

Clan: Azai

Personality: A calm and innocent young woman married to Shigure Azai. She was allowed to take up the Azai name with her husband when he was chosen to watch over the Azai clan. She is an inspiration and a beauty, though is renowned for her skills in battle. She is mainly her husband's arm to lean on and loyal ally to the end.

Appearance and Weapon: Azai appears in a silky purple kimono spotted by strands of white that form flowers for aesthetics. She is 5'8 ft and allures many with her innocent face, black hair, and blue eyes. She wields a kemdama.

History: Mikata was born as a lowly peasant in the Oda tribe, but would become known for her beauty as she grew up. After Oda Nobunaga allied himself with the Azai Clan, Mikata took the chance and married one of the soldiers, Shigure. Now in new territory with a bit more respect, she'd try her best to help the Azai.

Mikata would become a natural leader amongst her new people, helping her husband gain control of the clan while Nagamasa went to war. She helped develop policies of peace and neutrality to survive until the war ended, and helped reform Azai into a clan with less ambition. Her elegance and grace would help for her to be a good diplomat on her husband's behalf.



Partner Pokemon: Sylveon (Gurshi-sa)

Partners Info: A female Sylveon who's name translates into a combination of beauty and grace. She is seen elegantly on the battlefield, but makes it a dangerous place for many as her Pixellate can making average moves a huge threat. She uses the more graceful  Dazzling Gleam and Shadow Ball, has Hyper Beam for aggressive attacks, and Protect to save herself and allies in range from deadly attacks.

Nagamasa and his Pyroar nicknamed Amasato after Amaterasu, the Fire Goddess (despite the Pyroar being male), will soon come back. Oichi will be with them, having a Blissey named Shiai, which translates to 'bliss love'.

Name: Aneko Saotome

Gender: Female

Age: 26

Clan: Tachibana

Personality: A calm and caring individual, she always tries to have a back up plan

Appearance: Long black hair down to her shoulders and brown eyes. When not in battle she's usually seen wearing a Kimono. In battle you can find her wearing A full set of armour with her family crest on it

Weapon: Naginata

History: As the oldest member of the Saotome clan Aneko was tasked to learn a lot of the clans responsibilities even if she wouldn't be able to become clan head. One of her earliest encounters with the Tachibana clan was being a playmate for a young Ginchiyo and while their personalities made them but heads for a while they became fast friends in fact it was her friendship with Ginchiyo that lead her to learn the naginata.

Partner Pokemon: Litten

Partner's info: Her Litten which she name Ukyo is the child of her mother's partner gifted to her on the day she was considered an adult by her clan.


Saotome Clan info: the Saotome family has been in service to the Tachibana for generations acting as bodyguards and strategists when the time is needed. The current generations the half siblings Akainu and Aneko are some last surviving members after a plague had hit the shores of Hyuga infecting the younger members and killing the clan's elders. While they bicker a lot their main goal is seeing the Tachibana Clan's goals realized.

Name: Michi Date
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Clan: Date
Personality: Michi is very witty and sarcastic since he never thought he would be leader. He always strives to make people smile, even in the hardest times. He, however, is very indecisive with making decisions and can be absent minded at times. He is very enthusiastic about bringing the Date to glory and is determined to make sure his Clan goes down in history. Beyond his never ending smile, he is very worried because..... (Read History)
Appearance and Weapon: Note, just change some of the red accents to a evergreen color. I could not find anything that was green that fit for what I was looking for.

Appearance:

Michi Uses two old fashioned pistols that can shoot out with bullets, but also can shoot out water under high pressure. He, however, has to load them constantly since they only can hold a small number of bullets/small amount of water.
History: Michi was raised a very charmed life in the Date. He was second son of Teremune Date, the last head of the Date Clan. His older brother, Masamune was always destined to take the throne, so Michi occupied himself with trying to find a way to help his other brother anyway he could. Thus, Michi spent a lot of time studying strategy and formations to help. He also tried to make everyone in the castle smile, as he felt that was all he was good for. Masamune was very caring to Michi and taught him how to use the foreign technology of the pistol. He also gifted Michi's partner Pokemon to him.

Masamune ascended to the throne when he was 18 years old, and all was well for the Date. However, about two years into the reign, the Saika, a very close friend and ally of the Date, faced a tragedy and they requested Masamune to help them. Masamune took a regiment of his best men to help the Saika and left for their province. However, that was the last time Michi saw Masamune. Michi waited and waited for his brother to return, but he never did. The retainers of the Date begged Michi to take the throne for the time being, as it was dangerous to be without a warlord. Now, Michi has two goals: Find out what happened to his brother and help keep his clan safe.
Partner Pokemon: Buizel (We have already too many Fire Types, lol. Time for diversity!)
Partners Info: His Buizel is named Ran and was gifted by his older brother, Masamune. Ran shares in Michi's witty personality and he is always helping Michi fill up his pistols with Water Gun. He is very relaxed in nature and likes to chew on pieces of wheat.
Other: Masamune is currently 20 years old and his partner is a Braviary. He looks like this:

Name: Saizo Kirigakure
Gender: Male
Age: 24
Clan: Formerly the Hojo
Personality: Saizo is quite stiff on the surface, but does his actions in kindness. He doesn't show much emotion, and he always looks lost in thought. He tries to never rope his friends into his emotional struggles and he is willing to defend rich and poor alike.
Appearance and Weapon:

Saizo wields a small mancleaver (See appearance) that is very shock absorbent. He works with his partner Pokemon to stun and take out enemies. He also has other smaller weapons in his arsenal, such as ninja stars and arrow heads.
History: Saizo was oddly optimistic during his childhood. Raised in Iga under the Shinobi there, he learned some of the most difficult techniques any ninja could learn. His father tragically died in a failed assassination of a warlord, and his mother hid in Iga to escape her husband's captors. Due to these events, the Shinobi leaders decided to raise Saizo as one of their own. During one of the training expeditions, they came across a small orphan in Koga (The rivals of the Iga ninjas). The Shinobi decided to take in the Koga child, who was named Sasuke Saratobi. He became Saizo's close friend and ally.

Later in life, the Shinobi of Iga wanted Saizo to serve the Oda, however, due to the crisis of Nobuhide Oda dying and the lineage being thrown into chaos, Saizo was then sent to Hojo. Sasuke accommodated him, and they pledged their allegiance to the Hojo Clan. However, they were sent under Kotaro Fuma's Shinobi and were poorly treated due to them being from Iga, despite Sasuke looking like a Koga Ninja. Fuma made sure to give them the dirtiest work during their time there. Saizo eventually had enough of Fuma, and stood up to him. This resulted in a duel and exile from the Hojo Clan. This lead Saizo to vow to never fall as low as Fuma. Now, Saizo and Sasuke are rouges looking for a master and quest to form a righteous band of ninja.
Partner Pokemon: Manectric
Partners Info: Saizo calls Manectric 'Tris' for short, as he was never one to make an elaborate nickname. Manectric is very fierce and will protect her master at any cost. She is very quiet on her feet and uses her ability to discharge at will to aid Saizo on his endeavors.
Other: Sasuke is around the same age as Saizo and is traveling with him. Sasuke has a Staravia named Kaze that is good at scouting.

Name: Akainu Saotome

Gender: Male

Age: 19

Clan: Tachibana

Personality: A reckless hot head who usually charges in head first without thinking he has a strong sense of justice.

Appearance: A somewhat strict face he has short black hair. In battle he's usually seen wearing his family armor.

Weapon: A Katana

History: Born the youngest of his family Akainu always though he would never thought he would end up becoming the Heir to his family but luck has a cruel since of humor when he found it thrust into his lap. Only being used to his life as a warrior he's having a hard time getting used to his new role he's still prone to being reckless on the battle field.

Partner Pokemon: Houndoom

Partner's info: Akainu found his partner Sesshomaru when he was young the pup was injured and with the help of his father they nursed it back to health. After it was back to full health Akainu took it as his partner they've been inseparable ever since.


Tachibana Clan info: Originally retainers of the Otome clan they split when a conflict arose between Tachibana Dosetsu and Otomo Sorin taking the Hyuga region as their own over the years they've defended their borders from their rivals the Shimazu clan. Their main goal is to protect their region and maybe one day take out the Shimazu clan.
